It is a privilege to be able to provide care to the community of Essex; where I grew up and love. As the founder and Registered Manager of GPXtra, I am passionate about delivering compassionate and convenient care in the comfort of your home or local community – Healthcare That Comes To You. It is important to me that patients are listened to and given the adequate time needed to clearly understand and holistically treat the medical problems at hand. In addition, I believe in proactive and preventive medical care with the intention of achieving extended happy and healthy lives. Health is true wealth. GPXtra allows me to help my patients confidently invest in their health. GPXtra health assessments combined with the principles of lifestyle medicine enables me to provide honest and comprehensive medical guidance to my patients. Overall, it is my responsibility to ensure that GPXtra delivers a safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led service. I have key roles in being the safeguarding lead, infection control lead and information governance lead.
I am a Senior GP Partner and Trainer with over 15 years experience as an NHS doctor. I graduated from University College London (UCL) in 2011 with honours. I have a special interest in Lifestyle Medicine and Dermatology.

Our Story
GPXtra was born from hearing the countless stories of patients finding it difficult to access medical care. It is clear to us that the funding pressures facing the NHS is impacting the quality of healthcare provision across the entire system. Frustrated and concerned by the situation, we decided to look into what we can do to offer high quality, patient first, healthcare solutions in the Essex area.
The government has contractually forced NHS GPs to rapidly modernise frontline health care by pushing a more digital service. Although there are benefits of this approach to service the growing population and demand; our concern is this could further distance patients from their GPs. As GPs spend more time in front of screens rapidly sieving through masses of patient concerns; patients actually have less physical access to their family doctor. We believe this is threatening the traditional doctor-patient relationship that allows doctors to provide personalised patient-centred care with the depth required for excellent healthcare provision. In particular, we are concerned about the reduction in face-to-face medical provision for the most vulnerable. We see that patients with: frailty, mobility issues, disabling obesity, agoraphobia and even hardworking professionals finding it difficult to make suitable time to tend to their health are at risk of worsening health outcomes due to the NHS challenges and restrictions.
Unfortunately, GP availability for home visits has significantly diminished as a result of these changes. We know that doctor care at home provides further patient insights that is just not possible in clinic. Additionally, it provides convenience for those finding it difficult to attend clinic. As NHS GP funding is continually stripped away, doctors are being told to stop prescribing some common medications (such as medication to delay periods or medication for fear of flying) or have had to stop offering treatments (for instance cryotherapy for warts or removal of benign skin lesions / moles) as they are no longer reimbursed. We are committed to work to provide solutions to these problems with healthcare that come to you. Our mission at GPXtra is to bridge these ever-growing healthcare gaps with our patient centred home visiting doctor service in combination with our virtual service.

About Us
GPXtra is a premium doctor-led home visiting medical service offering personalised primary care in Essex. Our experienced and NHS trained clinicians bring excellent private and holistic primary healthcare to our clients’ front door; improving choice and access. Our digital capabilities provide clients with the additional choice of virtual consultations. We are a CQC regulated service providing safe, caring, effective, responsive, well-led and expert healthcare.
GPXtra specialises in offering community medical services at our patients’ choice and convenience which is not easily available on the NHS. Our growing services include: home GP care for acute minor illnesses, home comprehensive health screening with specialist lifestyle consultation to support longevity and extend healthy years of life, home skin consultation (including mole analysis using dermoscopy, removal of benign skin lesions using cryotherapy and wart treatment), home pessary ring fitting service for vaginal prolapse, home steroid injections to large joints (for conditions such as knee osteoarthritis, bursitis), home 12 lead ECG and ECG Holter monitoring service, home GP second opinion consultation, home and virtual weight management services (with option of weight-controlling medications) and more.
Take the case of an 83-year-old lady with a growth just below her right lower eyelid. She was concerned as it was increasing in size and becoming itchy and comfortable. Her GP referred to community dermatology who told her it was benign and therefore treatment was not covered by the NHS. It was an inconvenience as it was to get to the community dermatology clinic as her son had to take annual leave in order to take her to the appointment. She was still left with a growing lesion on her face. She did not want it necessarily treated for cosmetic reasons. It was uncomfortable and she was looking for a medical service she could trust to deal with the issue. A GPXtra doctor was able to see her in the comfort of her home. Reassess the growth with dermoscopy to ensure it was not cancerous and then confidently treat the lesion with cryotherapy.
Take the case of a 78-year-old man, with osteoarthritis of the knee, waiting for more than 9 months for a steroid injection after referral to MSK services by her NHS GP surgery who does not offer the service. Whilst he continues his long wait for a steroid injection, he suffers in immense pain and finds performing the exercises his physiotherapist has recommended more difficult. A GPXtra doctor was able to promptly offer the steroid injection; which helped reduced his reliance on the use of constipating painkillers.
